ROCOCO

is about fashion but it’s more about clothes and a lot of it is about me. You can expect to find:

  • hot takes on current fashion happenings and much scouting of trends

  • curations of pretty good-looking stuff you might enjoy-looking at

  • and some really personal reflections on My Life In Clothes, past present and future

I’m Rosie Jarman

a fashion market editor and writer based in New York City, previously at ELLE Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, and CR Fashion Book. I have a BA in Art History from Brigham Young University and an undying love for clothes from the moment I was born.

I know fashion isn’t crucial for survival but it is crucial to being a person and having a culture. A tool for storytelling, it’s about the curation of a world and a state of mind. It’s about people taking the time to make things we find precious. It’s about how cute it is that humans want to dress up. It should always be fun.

Market editing is curating. Finding patterns, collecting up parts. The way fashion cycles, how shapes and silhouettes are a pendulum, how what’s cool becomes lame becomes cool again. Finding designers who do beautiful work and see things differently. Scouring all corners of the earth for a skirt or bra or coat that will tell the story you want it to tell.
